Ginger Drink
Ginger Drink makes for a great refreshing drink anytime. On rainy days I make Ginger drink, sit the mug in a bowl of hot water and boy this is always a double whammy hot drink .It always serve the purpose of warming me up real good. Some times though when I have cough or cold I will include ginger in my special potion brew which I alone belives works for coughs. Now is it the ginger or the honey I usually add that drives the cough away? I am not sure but I love my cough brews.
This is certainly going to be one of my go-to drinks as the rainy season gets into its peak. Sometimes you just want something besides the usual hot beverage. But again its just as interesting when slurp up the final liquid from a peppersoup bowl .
Ginger as a root comes with so much benefit such as helping to prevent nausea in pregnant women and those that suffer from motion sickness. It also helps to reduce muscle and arthritic inflammation, improving blood circulation, .
Having suffered years of peeling fresh ginger with a knife I finally found a more convenient way to peel the ginger which is using a spoon. I also just added sugar cane stick to bring some excitement to this drink. I see an interesting party conversation item. Enjoy the life!
Recipe for Ginger Drink (This is kind of flexible)
- Peel the ginger roots by scraping with a spoon, wash, cut into small pieces and blend with water. Sieve to get the juice. 1 cup chopped ginger to 1 cup water is a good proportion.
- Dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar in water, and boil for about 3 minutes. Pour into the ginger juice and chill. You may want to stand your glass of juice in warm water if you want the drink to be hot just like I had mine. Add a stick of sugar cane as a stirrer.
