Pepper Sauce
A friend gave me some good quality Abuja yams a couple of days ago and all I wanted was to eat boiled yams with no frills . A simple Pepper Sauce well fried is all you need to accompany the yam.The aroma of this Pepper Sauce will get your neighbours peep through their window or just pretend to stop by to ask for something .
There is just something about the smell of fried onions and smoked crayfish or prawns that reminds me of street food. I looooove the aroma wafting through the air in the kitchen. Recently I have been wondering if the heat levels of peppers have dropped or my tolerance level might have increased. I use quite a lot of the Cameroun Yellow pepper or what is known as ‘Ose Nsukka’. The aroma turns the simplest of dishes into a treat.
My simple Sauce that works as a dip and a sauce goes with practically every carb type; Sweet potato, Irish potato, bread or fried plantain. I used the same sauce for mashed beans. Enjoy my simple and easy Pepper Sauce with Smoked Shrimp.
