Pineapple Ginger drink
Pineapple Ginger drink is one of my favorite home made drinks. Nutritious drinks done by your self are a great way to ensure you drink something healthy. My first experience with the Pineapple Ginger Drink was when I visited Senegal. It was so good and refreshing that I finally could not have my main meal. Pineapple is a fruit that you find all year round and fresh ginger is not in short supply either. This is a drink that you can make any time of the year. But because Summer is just a few weeks away fruit drinks has been on my mind.
The Pineapple Ginger Drink provides the opportunity to enjoy the health benefits of both ginger and Pineapple. Ginger is effective in reducing that feeling of nausea. I remember chewing on a generous amount of ginger during my last pregnancy. I certainly did not have to throw up as much compared to previous pregnancies. Ginger also helps in the treatment of chronic indigestion. You will find a speeding up of emptying of the stomach when you eat ginger. Painful menstrual periods have been relieved by chewing some fresh ginger.
I love the flavour of dry ginger in suya pepper. Grilling meats with some ginger also adds a nice flavour to the meat. Pineapple on the other hand is a tropical fruit that is delicious eaten on its own, or grilled slightly to caramelize. Peeling pineapples is always a challenge for me. I want to peel the fruit without feeling that I am slicing away too much fruit flesh . I find myself picking out the black eyes before serving. with the juice however I am less worried about the black eyes. Do pick up some pineapple and ginger a make a delicious drink with no sweetener nor preservatives.
