Something quick – Sausage wraps
My work calendar means its going to be a busy week, so easy breakfast idea is on my mind. Bread is not on the list for me this week. Incorporating good amount of fibre in the diet is always interesting and makes good sense for the digestive system. So I prepare some Crepe and wrap sausages in them.
These days I make sure I have some quantity of whole wheat flour at home, makes cooking sense.
All I do is simply buy the whole wheat, take home ,pick out the dirt, wash and sun dry then take to millers in the neighbourhood. But again feel free to use the regular white flour for this recipe.
You can actually try out several other filling options in your crepe .
To ease out things in the morning, you can prepare the crepe and leave in the fridge overnight. Make sure you have good electricity. We don’t want fermented crepe do we?
Recipe ( Makes 8 crepe)
1 cup whole wheat flour or regular white flour
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup cold Water
2 tbsps melted Butter
Pinch Salt
4 Beef Sausages( halved)
Method
1, Mix the egg and flour
2, Add the milk and water and whisk until smooth
3, Add the butter and salt and mix
4, Heat frying pan with very little oil to coat the base
5, Pour batter onto pot , spread batter evenly by a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
6,Brown the batter on both sides, each side should take about 2 mins .
7, Cook the sausages and half each or cut into four.
8 , Wrap each sausage piece in the crepe. You may want to also include some chopped tomato sauce in the wrap.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Where exactly can we get wheat flour I.e. What stores? Is there a local name for it?
Hi,Clara. Like I said in my blog I buy whole wheat from the open market and make my flour. I have not checked in the stores if they stock them. You can actually use the regular baking flour for this recipe. Welcome to my blog.
Please could you take a picture of the whole weat and put up. I’m fascinated by the idea of making your own whole weat flour ! I consider myself the queen of ‘from scratch’ cooking but I must confess I never thought that far down the food making process 🙂
Hi, a friend of mine sent me this link a coupla days ago and i feel like a little girl unleashed in a candy store. So many ideas to choose from and am looking at recipes with new eyes.

Thanks as I wait for your clarification(s).
Hello Firstlady,
I used the regular powdered milk and diluted it into liquid.
