Bread and Beans Roll

My imagination to make Nigerian food look great kicked in again.Bread and beans could be served in Aso rock to our international guests very soon. After all, this is a key avenue where Nigerian rich culinary heritage can be projected. It’s simple bread rolled up with beans pottage filling.
I know it’s fun tearing the bread piece by piece to gather the beans and head for the mouth all of this with your hands.
But you also sometimes feel like having this as packed breakfast for the office or for the kids to eat on the way to school…. Yes! I know mums will love this especially when you are running late….Less spills and mess on the school uniform on the way to school.
Just thinking now, this could be one way of getting the kids to eat beans as it looks like sausage rolls. Beans is great vegetable protein good for building and repairing body tissues. For the kids just simply saying you will grow tall is usually a good inspiration to eat beans.
I tried the rolls with egg stew and it was fine but with oil sipping through the bread. I used luke warm beans which was thick so there was not much of seeping through of the sauce. Fresh bread is best for this as it rolls flat and tightens better.
When I took these rolls to work I got so much ooohs! and aaahs! , that I thought I must share this serving idea.
You may want to refer to my beans pottage recipe posted earlier on this blog, but you can do without adding the effirin. Enjoy.
